This page provides a quick reference to a number of the new
terms you will see being used with the new e-mail, calendaring
and collaboration service.
-
POP: Setting up your email for POP will have your client download the messages to your computer and store them locally. By default POP removes the messages from the server unless you set it to leave a copy on the server.
-
IMAP: If you have your client setup for IMAP it will download just the headers of your email and leave the message on the server. This allows you to check your email in multiple locations as well as maintain folders on the server.

Microsoft's Exchange Server product to provide e-mail,
calendaring and collaboration services.
